(SENIOR) BACKEND DEVELOPER

We are currently developing an AI-based digital health platform. To strengthen our team, we are looking for experts in the field of backend development (full-time). Place of work is Vienna. There is also the possibility for remote work.

• Developing and maintaining the headless backend infrastructure (Strapi)
• Design, implement and optimize database schemas for product catalogs, user management, order fulfillment and other necessary data
• Integrate third-party APIs for payment processing, shipping, inventory management and analytics
• Collaborate with front-end developers to design and implement APIs for seamless front-end back-end integration
• Ensure scalability, security and performance of backend infrastructure by applying best practices and implementing relevant tools and techniques
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of the team
• Support the deployment, monitoring and maintenance of the platform in production environments (CICD pipeline)
• Work with the project team to plan, estimate and deliver high quality solutions on time

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or a related field
• At least 3 years of experience in backend development with Node.js (ideally Strapi) - proof of practical experience required
• Expertise in designing and implementing relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL
• Experience in the development of RESTful or GraphQL APIs and the integration of third-party APIs
• Knowledge of authentication and authorization techniques such as OAuth, JWT, Firebase or similar
• Good understanding of software development best practices such as version control (Git), continuous integration and automated testing
• Experience with headless CMS development, ideally Strapi v4 or v5
• In-depth understanding of multi-environment CICD pipelines (e.g. with GitHub Actions)
• Experience with the integration of e-commerce platforms and payment gateways (e.g. Stripe, PayPal)
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of agile development methods such as Scrum or Kanban
• Experience with deploying Node.js backends on AWS
• Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in German and English

The collective agreement for information and consulting applies to the advertised position. The minimum monthly salary is € 3,100 (full-time) gross. Depending on qualifications and professional experience, an overpayment is foreseen.
